Day Ten
Current Time: 4:15
Today’s Time: 6:30 hrs
Overall Time: 62:30 hrs
I started out the day by rubbing the oars with steel wool then getting another coat of varnish on them. I did the same fore the underside of the rail. After that, I used some white vinegar and water to try to clean my brass screws. Apparently, if you soak them overnight, it gets rid of a lot of discoloration. The only reason I wanted to try this is because the slot of the screw was discolored, everything else will be hidden in the wood.

Around the same time I finished this, my grandparents arrived with a brand new trailer!
My grandfather took off one of the wheels to discourage anyone from stealing it, and we left it (with permission) in the maintenance lot. I can’t take it home because I don’t have it registered.
After we all had lunch, I got back to work. I want to make a nameplate for this boat, and to do that I think I will try to use a dremel tool to carve it out. So I started hunting for some wood to use for the nameplate and after that started practicing on some scrap wood.
As I was looking through the many attachments Greg has for his dremel, I realized that one of them was a mini wire brush! There were still some spots I wasn’t able to get to with the full sized angle grinder brush, so I used the dremel to get the last of the discoloration off!
