Day Fourteen
Current Time: 8:46
Today’s Time: 3:30 hrs
Overall Time: 86:30 hrs
Last day today! I didn’t do too much more work on the boat itself, but I did get Merry Rose into the water! Before that though, I had to get the nameplate finished. First, I drilled pilot holes for the screw I am going to use. After that, I applied a coat of varnish, which I think really brought out the stunning color of the wood and contrasted well with the black lettering. I think that it could use another coat or two but that is a project for another day. I then installed all the hardware and some strings to make use I never lose the oarlocks in the water.
Around 4:00 I put the boat in the water! With the help of Matthew and Aspen, we carried it to the Proctor Pond. Once Matthew and I had gotten far enough away from shore it was time! We donned our eyepatches, raised our tiny pirate flag, and loaded our water guns before attacking those on land! After that though, I had some time to just row, and I was really happy with it! I am still not the best at rowing and I could use some hardware to keep the oar more in place, but it worked!
